This February, our exhibition is an homage to the stillness and quiet beauty of midwinter in the Rocky Mountains. Featuring breathtaking new works from Sarah Winkler’s series of arresting contemporary mountainscapes, Reflections in Winter ushers the viewer into a mental space of quiet awe. Carefully masked layers of paint accented by sparkling minerals and groundwater samples deftly reimagine the geological stratifications that comprise Sarah’s mountainous subject matter in her monumental acrylic paintings. Visiting from her own alpine home in the mountains of Colorado’s Front Range, Sarah herself will be on site from 5-8pm to host a meet and greet for the February Art Walk. We invite you to join us as we slow down and take in the unique, imposing grandeur of the heart of winter.
We will also be showcasing works from Meredith Nemirov’s Piplantry series, featured at this year’s Ah Haa School for the Arts New Years Eve Gala, as well as meditative new paintings from Australian Aboriginal-inspired watercolor artist Katie Heffelfinger, along with striking pyrography works on wood from new MiXX artist, Michelle Loa Kum Cheung.
